An announcement by the Capital Market Authority regarding the issuance of the final decision by The Committee for the Resolution of Securities Disputes (CRSD) to convict a violator of the Capital Market Law and its Implementing Regulations

CMA announces a final decision by The Committee for the Resolution of Securities Disputes (CRSD) on 11-11-1431H / 19-10-2010 regarding the case raised by CMA against Mohammad Bin Abdulrahman Bin Olayan Al Olayan. The final decision was to convict the accused of violating Article (49) of the Capital Market Law and Article (2) and (3) of the Market Conduct Regulations during his trading of the shares of Al Rajhi Bank, Al Bilad Bank, Mohammad Al Mojil Group Company, Saudi Public Transport Co., Saudi Transport and Investment Company (Mubarrad), Aldrees Petroleum & Transport Services Co. (Aldrees), Mobile Telecommunications Company Saudi Arabia ( ZAIN KSA) during the period from 1-9-2008 until 20-1-2009. These practices and violations presented manipulation and fraud as well as creating a misleading and incorrect impression. The decision included charging him with a number of sanctions detailed as the following:

1.       Oblige him to pay all the revenues on his investment portfolio ,as a result of the mentioned violations, to the CMA account. The total amount is (737,175.35) Seven Hundred and Thirty Seven Thousand, One Hundred and Seventy Five Riyals and Thirty Five Halalas.

2.       Imposition of a penalty of ( (140,000 One Hundred and Forty Thousand Riyals as a result of these violations.

3.       Prevent him from trading the shares of the companies listed in the stock market by buying them for two years.

4.       Prevent him from engaging in brokerage and portfolio management as well as working as an investment consultant for two years.

5.       Prevent him from working in companies that have shares traded in the stock market for two years.

 

By that, CMA insures its devotion to apply the Capital Market Law and its Implementing Regulations as well as protect the investors from illegal acts.
