Imposition of a Fine on Saudi Indian Company for Cooperative Insurance ( WAFA)

​The Capital Market Authority the issuance of a CMA Board resolution to impose a fine of SR 20,000 (Twenty Thousand Saudi Riyals) on  Saudi Indian Company for Cooperative Insurance (WAFA) due to its violation of paragraph (A) of Article (40) of the Listing Rules. The company disclosed incorrect information in its announcement on the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul)'s website on 29/07/2015 regarding its interim financial results for the period ending on 30/06/2015 (six months). The information on the deficit of insurance transactions less returns of policy holders investment and that there were profits for the policy holders investment for the current quarter. In addition to the amount of the surplus of insurance transactions less returns of policy holders investment. It was later corrected by the company in an announcement on 04/08/2015
