The Capital Market Authority Board has issued its resolution number (1-39-2008) dated (3/12/1429 H) Corresponding to (1/12/2008) approving the issuance of the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Rules. The objective of these rules is to ensure the commitment of the authorized persons and registered persons in applying the controls, procedures, and principles in combating money laundering and combating financing of terrorism, including the application of the Anti-Money Laundering Law issued by Royal Decree number (M / 39) dated (25/6/1424H) and its implementing regulations, conventions and relevant international recommendations. The rules also aim at strengthening the integrity and credibility of the capital market, and the protection of authorizes persons and their clients from illegal transactions involving money laundering, terrorist financing or other criminal activity.
The rules have taken into account comments received from relevant professional and interested parties.
