CMA Launches Application for Smart Phones

​The Capital Market Authority (CMA) launched its application for smart phones yesterday in an effort to reach the maximum number of current and potential future investors in the capital market. By launching  this free application, CMA has become the first capital market regulator in the Middle East to provide such an application for investor which allows them to be up-to-date with all services provided by CMA on a 24-hour basis.

The application allows investors to read about CMA’s establishment, functions, as well as the roles and responsibilities of each of its department from the application.  It is available in English and Arabic and provides access to CMA’s website content such as: guidebooks, rules and implementing regulations, a complete list of Authorized Persons by CMA, prospectuses, and its certified examinations. In addition, the application allows mobile users to read investor awareness messages posted by CMA on its social media channels. They will also be able to contact CMA for inquires related to its rules and implementing regulations.

The application, which is titled “CMA”, can be downloaded freely from App Store for iPhone, iPod, and iPad devices. It can also be downloaded on Android devices (all versions from 1.6 to 2.3), Blackberry devices, and Nokia devices that support QT operating system.

This initiative is considered part of CMA’s continues efforts to reach investors, followed by its launch of three social media channels on (YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter).

On another front, CMA launched a media center on its official website. The center provides CMA’s press releases, events, and press kits. It is also considered a reference for journalists in preparing their press reports.
