Minister of Culture and Information Abdul Aziz Khoja launched Capital Market Authority’s “Smart Investor” booth on Sunday evening, Nov. 21, as part of the festivities of the 4th Universal Day for Children Festival held at the King Fahad Culture Center in Riyadh.

Deputy Minister of Culture and Information Abdullah Al-Jasser attended the inauguration event along with several ambassadors in the Kingdom and specialists in children’s education.

The minister listened to a brief introduction about the “Smart Investor” project and its goals in the Kingdom and expressed his gratitude to the Capital Market Authority (CMA) for taking a part in educating youngsters about finance and the importance of saving. He also signed a copy of the “Smart Investor” magazine.

CMA began publishing a bi-annual magazine for elementary and intermediate children in 2009 as part of its social responsibility to educate youngsters about financial literacy and the basics of finance and saving. CMA distributed thousands of copies of the magazine to students in public and private schools in the Kingdom. Copies were also distributed in public events as well as CMA’s mobile stands at malls. The magazine is distributed freely and can be downloaded from CMA’s website: www.cma.org.sa

CMA’s participation through the “Smart Investor” program is part of a series of awareness programs which aim at educating visitors as well as the general public in public events.

Organizers of the festival in Saudi Arabia have described CMA’s “Smart Investor” project as a creative and leading scheme in financial awareness.

The five-day festival offers several cultural, recreational and entertainment activities for children. Organizers of the event have scheduled morning activities for elementary students and evening activities for families.
