CMA Participates in 16th Meeting of the GCC Heads of Capital Markets Authorities' Committee

​The Capital Market Authority (CMA) of Saudi Arabia participated in the 16th meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Heads of Capital Markets Authorities' Committee which was formed by the Ministerial Committee of Chairpersons of GCC Capital Markets Regulators. The meeting was held in Manama on Thursday, the 27th of April, 2017. The CMA delegation was headed by Dr. Tariq Abdullah Alnaeem, CMA's Board member.

The Committee discussed several issues in the field of integration of the GCC financial markets; including the project of the strategic study and mechanisms of achieving integration in the GCC capital markets, as well as the recommendations of the supervisory and surveillance team on the GCC financial markets. The Committee also discussed the report of the general secretariat regarding the workshop on manipulation of securities markets in the GCC states. In addition, the Committee discussed what had been concluded regarding the establishment of a framework for the website of the GCC financial market regulators. The Committee was also briefed on the latest developments concerning the memorandum of understanding between the regulators of capital markets of the GCC.

 

During the Meeting, the first joint meeting with the heads of stock exchanges was held to discuss related issues of the GCC Stock market.
