The Capital Market Authority has participated in the conference on “Administrative Development in Light of Economic Challenges” yesterday. The conference was organized by the Institute of Public Administration and under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz.
Dr. Abdulrahman AlBarrak, CMA Board Member, participated in the first discussion panel covering the challenges and opportunities on adopting governance principles in the public sector and its role in the 2030 vision. He explained the actions and procedures taken by CMA to start its own governance in 2014 and that an audit committee was assembled with non CMA members. This step was to ensure the highest level of professionalism in the Authority and be affected by any changes as well as to apply the same procedures that listed companies must comply to on itself.
Furthermore and based on the audit committee's recommendation, as part of transparency and disclosure, the Capital Market Authority started to publish its detailed financial statements in the Annual Report.
The overall aim of this conference was to shed light on administrative development and the importance of its role in achieving comprehensive development, as well as to achieve strategic plans effectively and efficiently through optimal use of economic and human resources. The conference therefore focused on exploring the means of expanding public-private partnerships to enhance administrative development in the Kingdom, highlighting the role of human resource development in achieving administrative and economic development, reviewing the means of managing knowledge economies to achieve administrative development, highlighting the importance of governance in the public and private sectors as well as reviewing the current trends in administrative development in light of economic challenges.
